VALITEST

Valitest is a H2020 project focused on Plant Health Diagnostics granted on the scope of the call H2020-SFS 2016-2017: Sustainable Food security.

Comprising a total of 16 partners research institutes and diagnostic kit producers, the consortium works together to achieve the following aims:

  1. Provide a more complete and precise description of the performance of plant health diagnostic tests, namely tests based on molecular and serological techniques.
  2. To stimulate, optimize and strengthen the interactions between stakeholders in Plant Health for better diagnostics.
  3. To lay the foundation for structuring the quality and the commercial offers for plant health diagnostic tools.

ClearDetections contributes in the role of a molecular based diagnostic kits developer and producer to all of the aims mentioned. Namely by participating in the following tasks, involved in the work packages organized by the project:

  • Validation of tests for identified needs and specific pests
  • Analysis of demand for testing and impacts
  • Training workshops
  • Establishment of an EU Plant Health Diagnostics Industry Association
  • EU Plant Health Diagnostics Charter definition for the improvement of plant diagnostics products.

By being a partner in Valitest ClearDetections ensures a key position within the Plant Health stakeholders, and actively contributes to provide the community the benchmark on quality guidelines for development and production of molecular diagnostic tools on plant health, namely for plant-parasitic nematodes detection with Real-Time PCR.
